The Quires
This is the breakdown of the possible contents of the quires in relation to my theory.
Quires 1-7 = Botany. 4, 5, 6 may contain astronomical details.
Quire 8 = Botany and SN 1054 in relation to the May total eclipse in China
Quire 9 = SN 1054 in detail
Quire 10 = SN 1054 in detail and calendar of the year 1054 in relation to SN 1054
Quire 11 = Calendar of the year 1054 in relation to SN 1054
Quire 12 = Calendar of the year 1054 in relation to SN 1054
Quire 13 = General, early and late astronomical concepts portrayed
Quire 14 = SN 1572 in detail. Tycho’s work and the island of Ven portrayed on the rosettes folio in detail.
Quire 15 = Botany and later fancy microscopes and/or medicine jars portrayed. Botany may contain astronomical details.
Quire 16 = missing
Quire 17 = Botany – not examined.
Quire 18 = missing
Quire 19 = Botany and early simple microscopes and/or medicine jars portrayed. Botany may contain astronomical details.
Quire 20 = Suspected to be further work of Tycho or Kepler's work on SN 1604 - astronomical in nature. In most of the manuscript although it is suggested that each quire covers a single topic in detail, throughout there are references to/comparisons with the other supernovae. As an alternative possibility to SN 1604 being represented by Scorpio is that SN 1006 may be the subject matter where Scorpio is involved. Although the location was reported as being is between Lupus and Centaurus by Chinese observers, it was reported an Arabic source (Ibn Ridwan) as being in Scorpio.
